The bee flew in unexpectedly and the Bee Holder was born.
Many of my painting are planned before I pick up a brush. Other, though, arise out of loose abstract backgrounds. Lately, I've had fun documenting the development of a few of my paintings. In this case, I completed the background first before I began the video.
Wandering through the halls and rooms of the Phillip S. Miller Library in Castle Rock, Colorado, was like a treasure hunt with golden nuggets appearing in every direction. Each area had incredible works of art from oil paintings to sculptures.
Finger painting was something I did as a child. Squeezing the paint between my fingers was such a fun and strange feeling. Last week, decades since my last finger painting adventure, I was encouraged to try it again.
Two of my paintings have been included in the Romancing the Arts Show at the Phillip S. Miller Library in Castle Rock. Ruby, a painting from my About Face Series, was recognized with an Honorable Mention from the judges.
